ABOUT THE ALBUM: "Crónicas del Quinto Sol" represents the pinnacle of Los Ancestros' mystical journey. Based on Aztec cosmology's Fifth Sun legend, this 53-minute concept album tells the story of cosmic destruction and rebirth. Recorded in an abandoned church near Teotihuacan using 8-track analog equipment, the album seamlessly blends Mexican occult traditions with progressive rock experimentation.

THE CONCEPT: According to Aztec mythology, we live in the era of the Fifth Sun. The previous four suns were destroyed by the gods, and each destruction led to a new creation. This album captures that cosmic cycle - from the prophecy of destruction through cataclysmic collapse to the dawn of a new age.

THE SOUND: Imagine Black Sabbath meets Santana in an Aztec temple, with krautrock motorik rhythms and Pink Floyd's cosmic scope. Heavy fuzz guitars, hypnotic Hammond organ drones, authentic pre-Columbian instruments, and powerful Spanish/English vocals create a unique sonic journey.

BAND HISTORY: Following their cult debut "Rituales Perdidos" (1971) and the acclaimed "Sombras del Despertar" (1973), Los Ancestros reached their creative peak with this album.
